Science World at Telus World of Science is
a blast for the kids, which makes it great for adults as well. Located
in Vancouver, Science World is run as a non-profit organization whose
mission is to help educate people in British Columbia about all
aspects of science. People of all ages can learn and be amazed by the
interactive and informative exhibits found five short minutes from
downtown Vancouver.
Founded in 1977, it was ten years before it was given its current home
with a dedication of the land by Queen Elizabeth II. British Columbia
banded together to raise money to build and renovate Science World.
When it opened in 1990, over 700, 000 visitors came through the doors.
Since then, many renovations and changes have taken place, but this is
a good thing. Local students are given a free trip to Science World,
but the place is so amazing that one visit just won't cut it. If you
plan on coming to Science World in Vancouver, you should try to set
aside a day or two to fully experience Science World.
Whether you just go to experience OMNIMAX Theatre or one of the always
changing exhibits, there are different rates available, with discounts
for seniors and children 18 and under. If you have 10 or more people
going, you can get a group discount. Science world is open from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends
and holidays. If you want to really experience all of Science World,
try to fit in more than one day, especially if you have children. Even
if you only get to visit for one afternoon, Science World is a great
place to spend your time. |
